Track Surfacing – Haddonfield, W. Linden, Collinswood Camden County
|
New Jersey - Extensive track-surfacing program in third-rail territory
- Limited track availability/site access/storage locations
- Complex planning and scheduling constraints
- Maintain existing levels of revenue service during construction
The project included raising, aligning and tamping twenty track miles including 34 turnouts. The entire PATCO mainline with the exception of tracks in the tunnel was surfaced, from Camden to Lindenwold. Tamping was done at night and on weekends, with close coordination with PATCO to minimize service interruptions. The surfacing work was part of a larger project involving interlocking timber change out and ballast installation. Subcontractor to Railroad Construction Company of South Jersey, Inc. Start of Construction 09/2003 - Completion 12/2003. |
