Construction of foundation, precast concrete firewalls, bus trenches, concrete encased duct banks, hand holes, precast and cast in place manholes for expansion of the existing substation. Compressed schedule required six (6) – ten (10) hour day work weeks. Major components of work involved 3,000 CY of concrete; 260,000 lbs reinforcing steel; 44,000 sf formwork; 5,500 SF of precast concrete firewalls; 1 precast manhole, 3 cast-in-place manholes; 7 precast hand holes; 1,855 LF of 5” PVC duct banks (varied from 2-32 conduits per bank). |
