Willett Ave. Electrical Substation Construction Project
|
South River, NJ - Expanding existing substation by 10,000 KVA
- Installing 34.5KV air gap switches
- 26.4KV to 4,360 volt step down transformers
- distribution switchboard rated for 5KV
- Underground and overhead distribution feeders
When originally constructed, the substation’s size was 20,000 KVA at 4,360 volts. In 1991, Beach Electric was responsible for expanding this substation with the installation of an additional 10,000 KVA in distribution. This new upgrade will provide a further increase in South River’s distribution capabilities with an additional 24,000 KVA by basically doubling the size of the existing substation. The project involves furnishing and installing new 34.5KV Air Gap Switches, 26.4KV to 4,360 volt step down transformers, a new 5KV distribution switchboard installed in an environmentally protected and controlled walk in enclosure and underground and overhead distribution feeders. At a time when power demands are high and South River is experiencing capacity and reliability issues, this project will provide the residences and businesses of South River the reliable power that they need. |
