Performed reconstruction of an at-grade intersection of Secaucus Road with Routes 1 & 9 and several rail crossings which included the installation and removal of temporary shielding. The purpose of this project was to elevate Secaucus Road over Routes 1 & 9, as well as Conrail, Susquehanna and future Hudson-Bergen Light Rail tracks. The major structures included three bridges with accompanying ramps along with seven retaining walls. Major construction items performed included pile foundation work, wick drain and surcharge placement, roadway pavement, drainage, lighting, sign and signal installations, as well as landscaping. Also included was maintenance and protection of traffic, and environmental issues. Site utility work included 5200 lf of storm sewer, 300 lf of sanitary sewers, 800 lf of water mains, 141 manholes and inlets, 4000 lf of underground duct banks. |
