Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Fun make up the fabric of our firm, safety being number one. Every owner has a concern for the safe performance of their project. Accidents can affect the job progress and reflect negatively on the Owner. The Railroad Construction Family of Companies has a Zero Accident goal. We work for many owners with high safety expectations and on jobs with various and complex hazards such as Port and Transit facilities, refineries and schools.
Our Comprehensive safety program includes policies and procedures for everything from first aid to fall protection security and traffic control. As necessary, we augment our in-house expertise with well qualified consultants to help us address unique circumstances. This firm has a long lasting relationship with Applegate Associates, Inc., who is our corporate safety consultant. We have personnel qualified to train on most safety topics including OSHA 10 and 30 hour construction safety courses
Depending on the job complexity, our forces schedule job training and inspections which are supplemented with outside audits by contracted consultants. While compliance with standards and regulations is expected of any enterprise, through careful job planning and innovative thinking we strive to exceed the required minimums. Work process is analyzed to enhance safety which enhances productivity.
Evidence of our safety commitment is our participation in an OSHA Partnership. It is the first of its kind nationally for heavy highway construction, at our project on I-78 in Bloomsbury, NJ. The OSHA Strategic Partnership Program provides a framework for voluntary cooperative relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors and the Agency to improve safety and health.
